The Rugged Revival is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We are based in the United Kingdom and operate under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What data we collect and why

Contact form

When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, the subject you selected, and your message. We use this to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is legitimate interests.

This information is stored in our CMS (Sanity) and emailed to us. We keep contact submissions for 12 months after they are handled, then delete them.

Episode comments

When you leave a comment on an episode we collect your name, email address, and comment text. Your name and comment are published if approved; your email address is never published or shared.

The legal basis is legitimate interests (enabling community discussion). Comments are kept indefinitely unless you request removal.

Artist directory submissions

If you submit an artist profile you provide your name, email address (as the submitter), and any profile information you choose to share. Submitted profile information may be published in the directory; your personal contact details are not published.

The legal basis is consent (you actively submit the form). You can request removal of your profile at any time.

Analytics (with your consent only)

If you accept cookies we use Google Analytics to collect anonymised information about how visitors use the site — pages visited, time on site, approximate location (country level), and device type. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.

Google Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking (or clearing your browser data).

We do not use analytics data to identify individual visitors.

Cookies

We use one first-party cookie/localStorage entry (rr_cookie_consent) to remember your cookie preference. This is essential to the operation of the consent system and does not require consent itself.

We also use localStorage (theme) to remember your display preference. No personal data is stored.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga, _ga_*). These are third-party cookies governed by Google's privacy policy.
